Anodizing is an electrolytic process used to produce a
thick layer of oxide on the surface of aluminum parts.
The oxide film that is formed is extremely hard and
highly resistant to wear and corrosion. Being that it is
porous, it allows for the absorption of dyes and
Zinc and magnesium phosphating is a method of protecting
a steel surface from corrosion, while increasing
resistance to wear through the application of an
electrochemical conversion coating. The process produces
a thick layer of zinc or magnesium phosphate on the
surface and is porous, crystalline and nonmetallic. Zinc
and magnesium phosphate coatings are highly resistant to
corrosion, very durable, non-reflective, and long
wearing making them optimal for military type weapons.
Bluing is a process in which a steel surface is
protected against corrosion through an electrochemical
conversion coating resulting from an oxidation reaction
with iron on the surface; this forms magnetite which is
black oxide of iron. The layer that is formed is dark
blue-black and may be glossy or flat depending on the
surface preparation of the metal before bluing.
All new or old components of a rifle containing wood can
be given a custom quality finish. Wood parts including
the stock, stock set, or any other part may be finished
or refurbished by us. Each rifle and wood piece is
different from another and will require custom ordered
specifics by you. Usually, wood finishes will vary from
being completely natural, oil based, to completely
synthetic. Our natural finish is our most popular and
will include several hand applied layers which will give
any rifle a candy look. Each finish will have its own
